I am Miss Rose.  I consider myself a paddle artist.  In a world where it is still assumed that men are the ones using
the power-tools, I am extremely proud to say that every paddle and sensation toy that comes out of my shop is hand-
crafted by me. I choose the shape and design of each paddle very carefully.  I work hard to cut each piece to make
the most of the beauty of the wood and not just to get the maximum number of cookie-cutter paddles from a board. I
check the balance of EVERY paddle cut…I test each with a cracking blow to my own thigh or arm—checking for
soundness of the completed piece…I check for quality at every step…I sand each board and paddle in seven
separate sanding processes…and every piece gets its first coat of oil applied with my own bare hands.  This gives
me the opportunity to make that last final sensory inspection.

I became a woodworker at an early age.  My first projects were sailing boats that I made using the scraps from dad’
s workshop and discarded nails, which I pounded straight on the front step.  Later, I built furniture for my Barbi-
dolls. Being the eldest of 3 children, I was often drafted by my father to help with furniture and remodeling projects
around the house and, as I got taller, with his commercial contracting jobs.  Over the last couple decades, my
interest in woodworking has grown—not always in proportion to my tools or to my budget.  Many of my my
projects—hairpins, combs, and small paddles—were cut and finished completely by hand (if you run into me on
one of my vending trips, ask to see my very first personal whacking stick). For bigger projects and orders, I would
drive 96 miles to use dad’s shop.  It didn’t take long for me to realize that I needed to start acquiring some bigger
tools.  For the last 10 years or so, I’ve been turning out my gorgeous paddles with the aid of Grizzley, Delta, and
Craftsman.  My 10-year-old scroll-saw breathed it’s last breath recently and a new DeWalt unit has pride of place
on my workbench.

Recently an acquaintance offered the comment that I had a “wood fetish”.  I replied; “No, I do not…I have a power
tool fetish.  All the gorgeous exotic wood is just the lube for the tools”.

Now speaking of the wood…ohhh do I have gorgeous wood.  As I write this little bio, I have over 30 exotic woods
from all around the world in my shop.  I have 7 different kinds of Rosewood alone—from 5 different countries.  I
have a source for the most beautiful Mexican Redheart imaginable…a grower in Costa Rica hand picks my Blue
Mahoe and La Reina de las Flores boards herself…another lady on the east coast calls me, personally, when
something exciting comes into her warehouse.  They are my “dealers” they slip something new and sexy into my
shipments, knowing I will be hooked and have to come back to them over and over again for my “fix”.  When you
see one of my paddles, all you are seeing is the beauty of the natural wood.  No stains, dyes or colorants are used in
any of my paddles.  The rich colors and shades are ONLY those that Mother Nature gave to the wood.

I have been a member of the BDSM/Domestic Discipline/Spankos community for over 15 years.  In the last five
years or so, we (my new husband and I), have become more active in the AZ Community and in growing
Compassrose Creations.  Our children are grown and we can, as they say, “come out of the closet” and take part in
more and more local even distant events. Compassrose Creations will be traveling to LA, Las Vegas, Albuquerque
and Chicago in the coming months…and adding even more cities to our vendors’ itinerary in 2012.
Last year we made the leap to a JET Bandsaw
so I can mill my own exotic woods.

Spanking pretty girls on it is nice too ...
Every piece is oiled daily for 7 days to ensure
full and complete penetration protective oils.
